Special Summary Revision Schedule :

The Election Commission of India has ordered Special summary Revision of photo Electoral Rolls, 2018 of all the Assembly Constituencies in the Union Territory of Puducherry enabling fresh inclusion of voters who attain 18 years of age with reference to 01.01.2018 as the qualifying date and who shifted their residence, migrant electors etc.,

The Schedule is as follows :

2 Period for filing of claims and objections 15.09.2017 (Friday) to 14.10.2017 (Saturday)

3 Reading of relevant part/section of electoral roll in Gram sabha/ urban Local Bodies and Resident Welfare Association Meeting etc., 16.09.2017(Saturday) & 10.10.2017 (Tuesday)

4 Special Campaign dates for receiving claims and objections at all designated location. 24.09.2017 (Sunday) & 08.10.2017 (Sunday)

5 Last date for disposal of claims and objections by 16.11.2017 (Thursday)

6 Updating data base, control table and merging of photographs & Preparation and printing of supplements of Additions, deletions and corrections by 15.12.2017 (Friday)

7 Final publication of Electoral Rolls on 05.01.2018 (Friday)

2) Eligibility to get included in the Voters List :
1) A citizen of India
2) Must be of the age of 18 years as on 1.1.2018
3) Ordinarily resident in the concerned area ($)
4) Residing in a foreign country who has not acquired citizenship of a foreign country and has completed 18 years of age as on 1st January,2018 (i.e. born on & before 01.01.2000)
NB: ($) Place of Ordinary Residence:

The applicants will have to produce one of the following documents as proof of their ordinary residence to get registered as Electors in the respective Assembly Constituency.

Proof of ordinary residence to be attached are as under:
a) Bank Kisan /Post Office current Pass Book or
b) Applicant Ration Card/Passport/Driving Licence/Income Tax Assessment Order or
c) Latest Water/Telephone /Electricity /Gas connection Bill for that address, either in the name of the applicant or that of his/her immediate relation like parents etc., or
d) Postal department’s posts received /delivered in the applicant’s name at the given address.

3) The applicants who would like to include their name or apply for deletion or apply for corrections will have to submit applications in prescribed forms. The Election Commission of India has modified the forms to make it people friendly. Elaborate instructions have been attached with the Form to guide the applicants to fill it up.

4) Even otherwise, the Officers at the Polling Station will assist the public in filling up the form. For every application submitted, an Acknowledgement shall be given, which will carry a unique number. People can refer this number to verify the status of their applications online in the Website of the Election Department.

5) Cases of people who possess Voter Identity Card but names not found in Voters List:
As per law the names of the citizens who are ordinarily resident in the concerned area only will be included in the Voters List. Hence names of shifted voters will be deleted. Therefore whenever a voter shifts his residence, he has to apply to the Electoral Registration Officer of the new area by giving details of his previous address.

6) Key Features of Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls, 2017
The draft Voters List shall be published in all polling station locations and in addition at the Office of the Electoral Registration Officers from 15.09.2017 to 14.10.2017 (from 8.45 am to 1.00 pm & 2.00 pm to 5.45 pm) in all working days and on Special Campaign dates on 24.09.2017 (Sunday) & 08.10.2017 (Sunday) from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm without break.

The public/employees can also file online application by visiting the website ceopuducherry.py.gov.in/. The public can approach the respective polling station for obtaining the forms and submitting their claims & objections.

The Electoral Registration Officer will summon the applicant for inclusion of his/her name on a particular day. He/She will be issued Voter Identity Card after the final publication of Voters List on production of acknowledgement.
