EASY is short form of Electoral Assistance System. This is a unique service first time in India being extended to the electors of Tamil Nadu to have a seamless connect with their entries in the Electoral roll ensuring correctness and to keep it up-to-date and maintain a continuous touch with the Election Commission.

Eligibility
All citizens of 18 years age on the qualifying date are eligible to become a voter, by enrolling their names in electoral roll and any elector’s name is finally removed from the electoral roll forever only when he is expired. Until then, as he shifts his ordinary residence his name also moves to corresponding part of the electoral roll.
Error in rolls crop up in three cases-
1. When the details of electors viz. Name, gender, age or date of birth, relation’s type or name, present address and photograph are not correct,
2. Name of elector finds place in more than one electoral roll and
3. A dead person’s name is not removed from the roll.
Instructions
** NERPAP has been therefore implemented by the commission to cleanse the electoral roll by correcting the ER entries and removal of repeat entries by the electors themselves.
** Electoral roll has been integrated in TN and henceforth the entries of electors will only be moved from old part of ER to new part of electoral roll whenever he shifts his residence.
** As no data entry is required, the details of elector will remain as it is except the address which elector may provide himself at his convenience any time using three modes of EASY.
** The statuary claim forms may be generated for elector’s convenience by EASY system itself if he desires to do so.
** As the ER entry will move across parts, no elector will be deprived of his right to vote as suo-moto deletion will be the thing of past except on death of a voter.
** Using EASY we are giving the power in the hands of voters to correct his electoral roll details once only and request for moving his ER entry to correct part of ER when he shifts his ordinary residence whenever he wants using a mobile APP, or a web link or through SMS gateway using registered mobile number already furnished under NERPAP or by now registering it afresh.
** These are the 3 gateways now through which now EASY will be working.
** Under National Electoral roll Purification and Authentication program (NERPAP) we have already asked people to correct all there details.
** Through EASY, they can again correct it now so that no other details except address to be changed whenever he shifts from one place to other.
** So that his entry from one place to other would be shifted in totality, except for the new address, for which the corresponding form would be generated automatically by the system.
** Aadhaar no. Seeded in to ER to ensure that name of a genuine electors name is not deleted as unique identity will ensure no repeat entry for him in ER.
** The elector has just needs to sign it, give the supporting document and without any mistake his name would be added at new place and deleted from the old place.
** So by this way our electoral roll would be always error free ensuring correct details of every elector, one elector’s name only in one electoral roll and no repeat, dead voters name in the roll ensuring that on the date of poll, nobody would be deprived of his/ her right to vote, and at the same time there would not be any repeated entries, as his name is deleted from old address as he shifted to new address.
** Also the data entry errors which cause mistakes in the electoral entries could be totally avoided because but for the address, nothing else would be changing for the elector, when he moves anywhere in India

On 06/08/2014 I have submitted form 8A at Zone 13 for transposing our three EPIC XKR 0558536 (2) XKR 0558486 (3) XKR 0558403 Velachery constituency part 168 to part 254. After which made several visits sent several mails, made phone calls. Also handed over complaint letters. Handed over cards for 1 & 3 and during general elections booth slips for 2 & 3. All these things we're not reflected in
the present draft roll released on First September,2016. The names of the above three persons remain in part 158 only and not transposed as per form 8A given on 06/08/2016. On contacting zone 13 my representative was told to upload these forms through Internet. Any way copies of forms and photos were given for correction. I request you once again to rectify the defects happened during the last 26 months and issue me the relevant three cards in my present address 403, Third Floor, Abinaya Apts, Second Cross Street,AIBEA Nagar, Thiruvanmiyur Chennai 600041, without any further delay.

Issue of duplicate EPIC - In case of loss, mutilation or poor quality of photo, the person will have to apply in person with photo in Form 001C along with proof of residence and remit the fee prescribed (Rs. 15/- ). in Treasury/ Sub-Treasury or in cash at the EPIC centre for which a receipt will be given by the election officials.
Although EPIC remains valid in case of change of address (since it is used only for identification only), an elector, in case of change of address, may apply for new EPIC with new address for other purposes like when applying for passport etc. If an elector is already registered in roll in his new address, but change in address has to be made only in EPIC, then he has to apply in Form 001C along with details as in electoral roll. EPIC with change of address will be issued with same number.
