Bye-Election to TNLA from 139 :

** There are 322 Polling stations in 139 Srirangam Assembly Constituency in which 230 polling stations are under Rural category and 92 stations are under Urban category. These 322 Polling stations are located in 138 locations where 111 are Rural and 27 are Urban. The Basic Minimum facilities for Polling Stations are being provided as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India.

Date of poll – 13.02.2015 (Friday)

Total General electors as per the final publication made on 05/01/2015 in respect of this AC is 270129 in which 133020 are Male, 137096 are Female and 13 are Transgender. The details of Polling station wise electors are available in our website

** The by-election to the Srirangam Assembly constituency, necessitated by the conviction of the former Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, in a corruption case in September, will take place on February 13.

Reason for Bye Election :

Appointment of Dates For Various Stages uf BYE-ELECTION to Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 139. Srirangam Assembly Constituency and fixation of hours of poll to fill a vacancy caused by the Disqualification of a Member
No. 100/TN-LA/1/2015 :
1. Whereas, the seat of Ms. J Jayaialithae in the Legislative Assembiy of the Tamii Nadu State, elected from 139-Srirangam Assembly Constituency, has become vacant on 27th September, 2014, by reason of her disquali?cation under Section 8 of the Representation of the Peopte Act, 1951 read with Artiste 191(1) (e) of the Constitution of India; and

2. Whereas, a bye—election is to be held for the purpose of ?lling the vacancy so caused; and

3. Now, therefore, in pursuance of sub-section (1) of Section 150, and Sections 30 and 56 of the representation of the People Act, @951 (43 of 1951), the Etection Commission of India hereby:-
(A) Calls upon the said t39-Srirangam Assembly Constituency in the State of Tamil Nadu to elect, bebore the 18-02-2015 (Wednesday) and in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the ruies and orders made thereunder, a person, for the purpose of filling the said vacancy in the Legislative Assembly of the State; and
(B) Fixes the hours from 7.00 AM. in 6.00 PM. as the hours during which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken on the date specified above for the election.

  • I have my franchise in Sri rangam assembly constituency. Probably ward number 5. I lost voter I'd. I want the I'd number since we want to cancel it and enrol elsewhere.

    • In case of loss, mutilation or poor quality of photo, the person will have to apply in person with photo in Form 001C along with proof of residence and remit the fee prescribed (Rs. 15/- ). in Treasury/ Sub-Treasury or in cash at the EPIC centre for which a receipt will be given by the election officials.
