Instructions For Filling Up Online Application :
1. The applicant should fill up all fields. The fields with ‘star mark’ are mandatory fields which are compulsory for registration.

2. The applicant can choose a date convenient to him/her for appearing for the personal hearing from the given dates.
3. For those who are unable to take printout should note down the Application Number generated by the Computer and submit filled up application available at the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer/SDO/DC in the concerned Island, quoting the application number.
4. The photograph of new applicants will be taken on the date of hearing.

How to Enroll in the Electoral Roll :
Condition for registration in Electoral Roll
Subject to the provision in section 16,17 and 18 of the Representation of the People Act 1950, any person who
a. is not less than (eighteen years) of age on the qualifying date, and
b. is ordinarily resident in constituency shall be entitled to be registered in the electoral roll for that constituency.

Forms for lodging Claims & Objections and for Corrections.
A claim for inclusion in the electoral roll is to be lodged in Form 6 appended to the RE Rules 1960 (R 13(1)).
An objection to the inclusion of a name in the electoral roll is to be lodged in Form 7.(R 13(2)).
Any correction to be effected in the entry already in the electoral roll is to be lodged in Form 8(R 13(3)).
For effecting transposition of entry , due to shifting of ordinary residence from one place to another within the same constituency is to be lodged in form 8A.(R 13(4)).
The above forms can be had from the office of the Electoral Registration Officer free of cost. The forms can be downloaded from this site also.

For inclusion, the duly filled in Form 6 shall be presented to the Electoral Registration Officer concerned or to the officer designated to accept the application. After preliminary verification, a notice of the hearing in Form 12 will be issued for personal appearance with supporting documents.The date, time and venue will be mentioned in Form12. The ERO/Asst. ERO on hearing the applicants will record his/her decision there on. If admitted, the claimant will be photographed immediately and Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) issued online. During the Summary Revision process, the EPIC will be distributed on a later date. .

  1. I am one of student from minicoy island U.T.Of.Lakshadweep. I am studying in Ernakulam. I didn’t have voter id card. So I wanna know, is it possible to make through online. Because I cant go to my native island. I didn’t have any leave. So is there any possibility then please try to help me as soon as possible because I really need a voter id. So i humbly request you to do something for me as soon as possible.
