Actor Vijay on Friday (08.03.2024) launched a membership drive for his new political outfit, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, with an aim to enrol two crore cadres.

How To Get TVK Membership Card?
“If you would like to work for the people by following the basic principle of equality and joining TVK, please read out the pledge and use QR code to get the membership card,” the actor said in a statement.
Enrolment for TVK is done either via text or scan QR code for WhatsApp and Telegram messaging apps, but electors’ photo identity card number issued by the Election Commission of India is a must to join. The process also includes a selfie to become a member.

About Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam
The party was founded on 2 February 2024, as Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) by the actor-turned-politician Vijay, a veteran star of Tamil cinema. He assumed the responsibility of the founder-president of the party. TVK is launched with the slogan “Pirappokkum Ellaa Uyirkkum (transl. All are equal by birth)”.
In the same announcement, it was announced that the party would neither compete nor extend its support to any other parties in the 2024 Indian general election, and they would compete directly in the 2026 Tamil Nadu legislative assembly election and the 2026 Puducherry legislative assembly election.
Founded by Actor Vijay: The party was launched on February 2, 2024, by well-known Tamil actor Vijay, who is now the party’s president.
Slogan and Goals: TVK’s slogan is “Pirappokkum Ellaa Uyirkkum,” which means “All are equal by birth.” Their aim is to bring about positive change in Tamil Nadu politics.
Not contesting 2024 National Elections: The party has declared that it will not participate in the 2024 Indian general election.
