About IIP Leader

Born into a humble family in Patuna, a small town in Bihar’s Jamui district, Engineer I.P. Gupta’s life is an inspiring tale of struggle and achievement. His father, the late Shri Saryug Mistry, was a skilled mason. Mr. Gupta was the seventh in a family of seven brothers and three sisters. I. P. Gupta completed his Masters (M.Tech) in Transportation Engineering and Management. He dropped out four times in his life—each time to pursue a new purpose and change.

** First dropout: Left the job of an engineer and turned to business.
** Second dropout: Left business and devoted himself to social activities and racial consciousness.
** Third dropout: Moved from social work to politics.
** Fourth and final dropout: On the culmination of the journey from ‘Jaat to Jamaat’, he founded the ‘Indian Inquilab Party’ on 13 April in front of a crowd of lakhs in the “Hanko Rath Hum Paan Hai” mega rally.

The beginning of the political identity of the ‘Paan Samaj’:
On June 4, 2023, he launched the “Hanko Rath Hum Paan Hai” campaign through the “Know Paan, Recognize Paan, Believe Paan” mega rally at Patna’s Bapu Auditorium. At this event, he delivered his historic statement—”I have come to change your race.” This rally marked the first historic step toward recognition and respect for the Paan community, drawing unprecedented crowds to the streets of Patna and creating a stir in political circles.

Betel Leaf Satyagraha Movement:
On August 12, 2024, when the Bihar government stripped Tanti Tattva of its “paan” status, I.P. Gupta led the protest. On August 27, 2024, he launched the “Paan Satyagraha Movement” with thousands of students from Bihar against the dictatorial policies of the BPSC.
