** I am over 18 years of age and believe in the principles and programs of Samata Party.
** I have full faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as established by law and I will maintain the unity, sovereignty and integrity of India based on the principles of socialism, secularism and democracy.
** I accept the values ​​and ideals that Mahatma Gandhi has put before the country and taking inspiration from the heritage and high traditions that India received during the freedom struggle, I consider myself a democratic, secular, and socialist nation. I dedicate myself to construction work.
** I firmly believe that this task can only be accomplished through peaceful means, including Satyagraha or non-violent protest.
** I am not a member of any other political, communal or other party which has separate constitution and programme. I believe in promoting Khadi and prohibition and do not believe in any kind of discrimination on the basis of caste or sect.
** I promise to abide by the constitution, rules and discipline of the Samata Party.

About Samata Party

The Samata Party is a political party in India, initially formed in 1994 by Former Defense & Railway Minister of India dynamic leader Late George Fernandes, now it is led by Uday Mandal its National President & Youth Leader. Samata Party first time launched Nitish Kumar as the Chief Minister of Bihar in 2000. It split from Janata Dal.

In 2003 one faction of Samata Party merged with Janata Dal (United), another faction led by Member of Parliament Shree Brahmanand Mandal remained in the Samata party and continued to use the party name and symbols. In the general elections of 1996, the Samata Party formed an alliance with the Bharatiya Janta Party and won eight seats, six of which were in Bihar and one each in Uttar Pradesh and Odisha.

In the 1998 general elections, again in alliance with Bharatiya Janta Party, it won twelve seats, ten from Bihar and two from Uttar Pradesh. In March 2000, Nitish Kumar was elected leader of the NDA for Chief Minister of Bihar post. On 3 March, he, sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the first time at the behest of the Vajpayee Government in the center. NDA and allies had 151 MLA whereas Lalu Prasad Yadav had 159 MLA in the 324-member house.

Both alliances were less than the majority mark, 163. Nithish resigned because he could not prove his numbers in the house.Radhabinod Koijam became the second chief minister from Samata Party when was sworn in as Chief Minister of Manipur on 15 February 2001.
