What is Kanooni Sahyog Abhiyan Program?
Under the esteemed guidance of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), a state-wide campaign titled “KANOONI SAHYOG ABHIYAN” is being initiated. This initiative aims to address and resolve legal issues at the community level by providing assistance directly at the doorsteps of the people.

This programme aligns with the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s vision of a Sunaulo, Samridha, and Samarth Sikkim, the mission of a Nasha-Mukta Sikkim, and the empowerment of women by ensuring that they are well-informed of their legal rights. It reflects the Government’s unwavering commitment to Nari-Sashakt (Women Empowerment) while strengthening rural communities, youth, and farmers through awareness of their legal entitlements.
The campaign has commenced from Rorathang under Rhenock Constituency on 29th August, 2025 and will subsequently be extended to all constituencies across the state. Recognising that individuals, especially in rural areas, often hesitate to approach legal forums for redressal and instead choose to suffer in silence, this initiative seeks to bridge the gap by:
Disseminate Legal Rights:
Awareness on basic legal rights for every citizen.
Key Legislations:
Educating the public on key legislations such as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, Anti-Drugs Laws, Domestic Violence Act, and various laws safeguarding women and children
Free Consultations:
Providing free legal consultations and affidavit services.
A comprehensive legal outreach initiative:
More than an awareness programme, KANOONI SAHYOG ABHIYAN is envisioned as a comprehensive legal outreach initiative, fostering justice, empowerment, and accessibility for all.
