Why YSR Congress

** YSR Congress Party came into being as a whiff of fresh air when political uncertainty coupled with apathy among political parties towards people’s problems was at its peak in the state.

** The launching of the party became an imminent necessity as ideological wilderness gripped the ruling congress party with Delhi involving in remote control direction and calling the shots while the state government had neglected the administration and people’s welfare.
** After the tragic death of the towering leader YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the vacuum and void could not be filled as the State had no leader who could match YSR in stature, vision and charisma.
** Nefarious plans came into full play and Delhi Durbar unfolded a methodical action plan to erase YSR and his nobility from the people’s memories.

Self-respect of Telugu People :
** The self-respect of the people of Andhra Pradesh was deeply hurt when due recognition to YSR was denied by the congress high command and his welfare measures were being watered down by the state government systematically.
** A situation was created where his son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had to leave the Congress and start a new political party to keep YSR’s ideals afloat and bring back his golden era.
** That was how YSR Congress Party took birth on March 11, 2011 at Jaggampet in East Godavari district.
** The formal launch of the party took place on the next day at Idupulapaya where the great leader YSR was laid to rest.
** People gave a decisive mandate by electing party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his mother YS Vijayamma to Lok Sabha and the state assembly from Kadapa and Pulivendula constituencies respectively by an overwhelming margin signaling the arrival of a new force that could fulfill their aspirations.
** The acronym YSR stands for Yuvajana, Shramika, Rythu and YSR Congress Party is committed to the uplift of all sections of the society. Farmers, women, students, weavers and other marginalized sections of the society are the solid pillars of the YSR Congress party.

The Flag :
** The colours and elements that enrich the YSR Congress Party flag come in natural shades and shapes.
** The flag has a beaming YSR with his welfare schemes being part of the flag design in a circle.
** The motif is embossed in three colours-blue, white and green.
** The flutter of the flag with its three colours—blue showing that sky is the limit for the youth in the state, white depicting peaceful coexistence and good governance and green projecting prosperity of farmers—is striking, easy on eye and captures the philosophy of our party.
** Standing as a pennant for the welfare of the people, the flag carries with it their aspirations and its commitment for a welfare state.
** It goes well into the people’s hearts leaving an indelible mark of satisfaction and gratitude among them for what YSR has done and what is in store.
