After taking into consideration various factors like local festivals, electoral rolls, weather conditions etc., the Commission has decided to hold bye-elections to fill these vacancies as per the programme mentioned as under

Electoral Roll :
The Electoral Rolls for Andhra Pradesh with reference to 01.01.2017 has been finally published. The bye-election in the States will be held with the existing rolls.

Electronic Voting Machines : (EVMs)
The Commission has decided to use EVMs and WPATs in the bye-elections in all the polling stations. Adequate numbers of EVMs have been made available and all steps have been taken to ensure that the polls are conducted smoothly with the help of these machines.

Identification Of Voters :
In consonance with the past practice, the Commission has decided that the voter’s identification shall be mandatory in the aforementioned bye-elections at the time of poll. Electoral Photo identity Cards (EPIC) shall be the main document of identification of a voter.

However, in order to ensure that no voter is deprived of his/her franchise, if his/her name figures in the Electoral Rolls, separate instructions will be issued to allow additional documents for identification of voters at the time of poll in the said bye-elections.

Model Code Of Conduct :
The Model Code of Conduct shall Come into force with immediate effect in the district(s) in which the whole or any part of the Assembly Constituencies going for bye elections are included, subject to partial modification as issued vide Commission’s instruction No. 437/INSTI2012/CC&BE, dated 26 April, 2012 (available on the Commission’s website).

The Model Code of Conduct shall be applicable to all candidates, political parties and the State Governments concerned. The Model Code of Conduct shall also be applicable to the Union Government for the States concerned.

I have shifted my residence recently. How do I ensure that I am enrolled in my new place of residence and my name is deleted from the old place?
Ans. In case the new residence is in the same constituency please fill Form-8A otherwise please fill form-6 and submit to the ERO (SDM) or the AERO (MRO) of the area of your new residence.

I have shifted my residence recently. I have Photo ID Card with the old address. Can I get new ID Card for the present address?
Ans .First of all please ensure that you have enrolled yourself in the Electoral Roll of the concerned AC, where you are now residing following the procedure given in ans no.1. Subsequently, changes will be made in the existing Identity Card by pasting the new address on the back side of the card.

My old I Card is defective. I would like to have a new I Card with correct particulars. What is the procedure?
Ans. You can get your ID Card rectified by depositing it in the Office of the ERO concerned or at Photography Centre when the work of preparation of Photo ID card begins.

I do not have a ration card. Can I get enrolled without a ration card? What are the other documents, which I can show as proof of my residence?
Ans. Ration Card is not essential for enrolment. You can show any other proof of residence like Passport, Bank Pass Book, Driving license etc. or any Govt. document to facilitate the work of registration.

I am a tenant and my landlord does not want me to get enrolled. How can I get enrolled as a voter?
Ans . To get enrolled in the voter list is your statutory right. Please check the Electoral roll of your area ERO (SDM)/AERO (MRO) office. If your name is not included please fill up Form 6 and deposit it with the ERO.
