Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council

The term of office of following sitting members of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council are due to expire as per the details given below

Telangana Legislative Council

The term of office of following sitting members of the Telangana Legislative Council are due to expire as per the details given below

Note :
** Also, one vacancy in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council has occurred on 3rd October, 2018 due to death of sitting member, Dr. M.V.V.S. Murthi from Visakhapatnam Local Authorities’ Constituency. The term of Dr. M.V.V.S. Murthi is up to and including 11.08.2021.

** Amendment of Delimitation Order of Council Constituencies in Telangana is under process; however, the Commission has decided to conduct the aforesaid elections as per the existing delimitation.

Election Schedule

Now, the Commission has decided to hold above mentioned Biennial Election to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Legislative Councils and bye election to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council from Visakhapatnam Local Authorities’ Constituency, in accordance with the following schedule

1 Issue of Notifications 25th February, 2019 (Monday)
2 Last date of making nominations 5th March, 2019 (Tuesday)
3 Scrutiny of nominations 6th March, 2019 (Wednesday)
5 Last date for withdrawal of candidatures 8th March, 2019 (Friday)
6 Date of poll 22nd March, 2019 (Friday)
7 Hours of poll 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.
8 Counting of Votes 26th  March, 2019 (Tuesday)
9 Date before which election shall be completed 28th March, 2019 (Thursday)

Voter Helpline – 1950

The enrolled electors in the Electoral Roll can check the details of their personal information, the Polling Station planned for them to visit on the Poll Day and to know the contact details of Booth Level Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and District Election Officers, by using the Voter Helpline Mobile App or through www.nvsp.in Portal or by calling 1950 Helpline Number.

In the same line, services through SMS can also be availed by citizens by sending SMS without any cost to 1950. Formats in which such SMSs can be sent are

(i) ECI <EPIC Number> <0 (for reply in English) or <1 (for reply in the regional language).
(ii) ECIPS <EPIC Number>

This will fetch the address of the Polling Station, where the said EPIC Number bearer needs to go to cast the vote.

(iii) ECICONTACT <EPIC Number>

This will fetch the reply providing the sender with contact details of Booth Level Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and District Election Officers.
